Mr. William Earl DeLong, age 60, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center. 

Per his request, his remains were cremated.  There will be no services. 

He was born March 24, 1949, in Elmira, New York, to the late Kenneth and Salme Lethtonen DeLong.  He was engaged in the auto body repair business before failing health forced his retirement.  He believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. 

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shirley Ann Spooner Delong, of Shelbyville; special companions, Sweetie Cat and T. J. Kuty Cat.

Mr. Claude Hardison “Red” or “Buddy” Arnold, age 63, of Scottsboro, Alabama, formerly of Shelbyville, Tennessee, died Sunday, August 30, 2009, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. 

Graveside services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at New Bethel Cemetery in Shelbyville, Tennessee.  Keith Camp will officiate.  Burial, with full military honors, will follow in New Bethel Cemetery. 

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at Scottsboro Funeral Home in Scottsboro, Alabama. 

Visitation will also be 11 AM until 1 PM Wednesday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. 

He was born September 8, 1945, in Bedford County, to the late Claude Hardison Arnold, Sr. and Lillie Belle Redd Arnold.  He was a retired steel worker. He was veteran of the United States Marines and served in the Vietnam War. 

He is survived by a son, Jason Arnold, and his wife Kristy, of Rydal, Georgia; a daughter, Julie Thompson, and her husband, Marlon, of Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters, Virginia Neal, and her husband Charles, of Shelbyville, Tennessee,  and Pamela Faye Fatima, and her husband Robert, of Plainfield, Illinois; four grandchildren, Noah and Kendall Arnold, and  Titus and Marlie Thompson.  He is also survived by his companion, Desiree Delaney and her daughter Olivia.

Mrs. Quixie Moses, age 83, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at Glen Oaks Convalescent Center. 

Graveside services will be 11 AM Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Willow Mount Cemetery. Reverend Ray Armstrong will officiate. 

There will be no visitation. 

She was born March 14, 1926, in Bedford County, to the late Arthur and Lizzie Mae Brown James.  She was a homemaker and member of Fellowship for Christ Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Udell Moses, in 2002. 

She is survived by a son, Leslie Udell Moses, and his wife Vickey, of Shelbyville; three sisters, Yvonne Carter, Dot Enzel, and Patsy Brown, all of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Mr. M.B. Ray, “Uncle Beadie”, died Sunday, August 30, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center.

He was born January 1, 1928, in Unionville, to the late William and Lela Johnson Ray.  He is survived by a brother, W. N. Ray, of Tullahoma, and two sisters, Mattie Anderson, of Shelbyville, and Emma Lou Hughes, of Louisville, Kentucky.  Caregivers, Dora Anderson Tillman and Vivian Waggoner, both of Shelbyville, are also left to mourn his passing.

Mr. Ralph Morgan “ Buddy ” Dugger, age 76, died Wednesday, September 02, 2009, at St. Thomas Hospital. 

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, September 4, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.  Reverend Emmett Arnold will officiate, with burial to follow in Bomar Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.

He was born July 13, 1933, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the Willie B. and Jessie Lee Kimes Dugger.  He worked previously as a fireman, chicken truck driver, and a painter.  He attended the Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Fuller Dugger and a son, William Frederick Dugger.

He is survived by three sons, Mike Dugger, and his wife Gracie, Chris Dugger, and Barry Dugger, and his wife Rita, all of Shelbyville; a daughter, Patricia Crowson, of Shelbyville;  a sister, Annie Mae Peale, and a brother, Wayne Kelly, both of Birmingham, Alabama; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Elease D. Bailey, age 51, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center.

Visitation will be hour prior to service Sunday at the church. 

She was born May 11, 1958, in Bedford County to Louise Sparrow, of the Flat Creek Community, and the late Robert Earl Sparrow.  She was a nurse’s aid before failing health forced her retirement.  She was a member of Bird Street Church of Christ. 

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, of thirty years, Isaac Bailey, of Shelbyville; a son, Patrick Bailey, and his wife Stephanie, of Shelbyville; two grandchildren, Tyler and Treaven Bailey.

She was born June 5, 1955, in Hampton, Virginia, to Donald Dean Brown, of Holly Pond, Alabama, and the elate Ruby Elizabeth Preece Brown.  She was a homemaker.

In addition to her father, she is survived by a step-mother, Jackie Brown, of Holly Pond, Alabama; a son, Earl Teitsch, of Bell Buckle; three brothers, Billy and Bruce Brown, both of California, and Tommy Brown, of Holly Pond, Alabama; three sisters, Angie Snow, of Shelbyville, Judy Ward, of Blountsville, Alabama, and Rhonda Brown, of Cullman, Alabama.

Matthew Joseph Cooke, age 23, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, September 5, 2009, in a motor vehicle accident.

He was born august 18, 1986, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Byron and Tamra Lynn Wilder Cook.  He was a graduate of Shelbyville Central High School where he excelled in baseball.  He was a welder and attended Grace Assembly Church. 

He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Dorothy Ferguson. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by grandparents, Ray and Mickey Wilder, of Clarkston, Michigan and Johnny Cooke, of Morristown, Tennessee; two brothers, Johnathon Cooke, and his wife Leslie and Joshua Cooke, both of Shelbyville.

Mr. James Edgar Beard, age 85, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center.

He was born February 22, 1924, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late William Elvis and Ruby Beard.  He was retired from Oman Construction and Hardaway Construction. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Brown. 

He is survived by his wife, Katie Brown Beard, a son, Thomas Brown, two sisters, Myra Bonner and Bridgett Brown, all of Shelbyville; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was born February 8, 1934, in Lynchburg, Tennessee, to the late Charles and Katie Bell Wisdom McGee.  She was retired from Renegar Drug Store, and a member of Eastview Baptist Church.

Her first husband, Earl Graham and a sister, Louise Davis, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of thirty five years, Max Leon McQueary, of Shelbyville; step children, Rhonda Neal, of Bell Buckle and Sheila Reed, of Deason; five sisters, Margie Ward, Geraldine Street, Linda Floyd, Betsy Brazier, all of Shelbyville, and Kay Crowell, of Lynchburg; two brothers, Edwin and Kenneth McGee, both of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Brandi Arnold, Cheryl Seibers, Derrick Hill, and Stefin Reed; six great grandchildren, Destiny Moore, Cassidy Sanders, Trustin Sanders, Asia Seibers, Kendell Arnold, and Erika Arnold.

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Clanton Molder life-long resident of Shelbyville passed away Friday September 11 at the age of 83.  Funeral services for Mrs. Molder will be conducted on September 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel in Shelbvyille.  Brother Kevin Minchey, pastor of First Baptist Church of Shelbyville and Brother Drew Hayes of the People’s Church of Shelbyville will be officiating.  Her grandson, Charles “Chaz” Molder will be assisting.  Burial will follow at the Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville.  The family will visit with friends on Sunday September 13 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. 

The Bedford County native was born on June 26, 1926, the daughter of the late Thomas George and Irene Lokey Clanton.  She was the wife of the late Charles “Charlie” Arthur Molder, who passed away in 1992, for 42 happy years.  Together they owned Molder’s Planning Service Company.   

Dot graduated from Shelbyville Central High School in 1945.  She was a member of the Shelbyville Eaglettes basketball team where she received all district honors.  She was a member of the Shelbyville Women’s Club, Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Beta Iota Chapter. She also served as a member of the Prayer Team at First United Methodist Church in Columbia.
Dot was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Shelbyville for 64 years.  She served on various committees for the church and was a member of the Joy Sunday School class.  Charlie and Sam McLean designed the new church building on Depot Street, and when it was completed Dot was asked to serve as chairman of the church’s 150 year celebration.  Brother Homer Cate was a former pastor who attended this celebration which made Dot particularly happy since Brother Cate was the pastor when Dot joined the church at age 17.  While she wasn’t able to attend church over the last several years, she remained involved in other ways and in constant communication with her cherished friends at the church. 

She leaves behind two sons, Rick (Deborah) Molder of Columbia and Mark (Cindy) Molder of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  She is also survived by four grandsons, Mark (Kandi) Molder of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; King (Ester) Molder of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Chaz (Elizabeth) Molder of Columbia, Tennessee; and Jake Molder of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  She has two great-grandsons Cameron and Grant Molder of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. 

She is also survived by her brother Tom Clanton of Brentwood, Tennessee and sisters Connie Clanton Curry of Shelbyville, Donna Clanton Spence of Smyrna, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.  She has a number of life-long friends who have been supportive of her over the years who survive her and which she was forever grateful for their love and support. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Dot was preceded in death by brothers: Albert Ray Clanton and Robert “Bob” Edward Clanton, two sisters: Sara Elizabeth Clanton Ferrell and Jo Ann Clanton Wilkes, half-brothers: Otis Clanton, Lewis Clanton, and Finis Clanton, and half sister Alma “Lady” Clanton Ervin.   

Pallbearers will be: Jerry Dunagan, Marshall Lile, John Pylant, David Deason, George Parham, and Barry Cooper.

Mr. Jerry J. Naron, age 65, of Shelbyville, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 11, 2009, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. 

Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.  Geoff Geisemann and Reverend Donnie Jones will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery.

He was born January 16, 1944, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to the late James ‘Shed” and Elsie Burchett Naron.  He was a retired buyer for Sandford Corporation.  He was a member of the Bedford County School Board, and coached baseball for over 44 years.  He was a coach for the American Legion Team and many others. 

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Harrell and Louise Rogers. 

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kay Gault Naron, of Shelbyville; a son, Warren Naron, and his wife Linda, of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Lisa Naron, and her companion, Chris Brown, of Waverly; a brother, James Naron, and his wife Mable, of Murfreesboro; a grandson, Lucas Naron, of Murfreesboro.

She was born June 14, 1925 in the Farmington Community of Marshall County, to the late Frank Clair and Vera Rebecca Wilson Musgrave. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church.  She also held membership in the Shelbyville Women’s Club, Garden Club, and United Methodist Women’s Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack McGlasson.  Also preceding her in death were four sisters, Evelyn Massey, Clara Searcy, Melba Culbertson, and Delle Bowden, and a brother, Buddy Musgrave.

She is survived by a son, Tommy Hawkins, and his wife Patricia, of Lewisburg; a sister, June Orr, of Alexandria, Kentucky, and a sister in law, Marie Musgrave, of Farmington; three grandchildren, Hale Hawkins, and his wife Kathryn, Re Kelso, and her husband Kirk, and Tim Hawkins; six great grandchildren, Power Johnson, Haley Hawkins, Thomas Hawkins, Anna Marie Hawkins, Rob Hawkins, and Jackson Kelso.

She was born August 12, 1917, in Bedford County, to the late Eugene and Nealy Halmontaller Nelson.  She retired from Faber-Castell, in Lewisburg, and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.  She was greatly involved in the SACP Granny Program. 

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Jean Welsh, and three brothers, Eugene Nelson, Thomas Nelson, and Ted Nelson.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lee Jackson and Ethlene Smith. 

She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Sue Deinlein, of Maryland; five grandchildren, Debbie Johnson, Sandy Ward, Buddy Deinlein, Billy Deilein, and Chuck Walsh; five great grandchildren, Tammy Bynum, Laura Deinlein, Emily Deinlein, Jason Deinlein, and William Deinlein; three great great grandchildren, Kyler Reynolds, Chloe Reynolds, and Ethan Bergman.
