Mrs. Janie Louise Fisher Smithson, age 73, entered into eternal rest Friday, October 2, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, October 4, 2009, at First Christian Church in Shelbyville, Tennessee.  Reverend Bryan Elliott will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. 

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Saturday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. 

She was born February 28, 1936, in Bedford County, to the late Tommy Lee and Willie Sanders Fisher.  She was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Bell South. She also held membership in the Town and Country Garden Club and Daughter of the American Revolution. She always saw the best in other people and brought out the best in them. She was never in a room of strangers, but only people she had not met yet. She was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee and after a stint in the Navy serving her country, she returned. She was always willing to volunteer whether it was at a local school, civic or church function.  She was an active member of First Christian Church. 

She was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Lee Jorgenson and James Robert Jorgenson.  A brother, James Fisher and a sister, Lucille Blessing, also preceded her in death. 

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Albert Lee Smithson, of Shelbyville; two sons, Cliffton Gene Jorgenson, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and David Michael Jorgenson, and his wife Kat, of Tullahoma, Tennessee; a daughter, Kathy Lynn Reed, and her husband, Johnny, of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren, Rachel Rose Jorgenson Livesay, and her husband, Josh, of McMinnville, Tennessee, Collin Jorgenson, and his wife Lisa, Ashley Reed, Tripp Reed, Stephen Jorgenson, and Rebecca Jorgenson, all of Shelbyville, Dakota Bowen and Amanda Bowen, both of Tullahoma; four great grandchildren and one brother, Robert Fisher.

Mr. Robert “Larry” Arnold, age 55, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, October 03, 2009, at his home after an extended illness. 

Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.  Reverend Emmett Arnold will officiate, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. 

Visitation will be 4-7 PM Sunday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. 

He was born September 26, 1954, in Cook County, Illinois. He was retired from the Marshall County Ambulance Service and worked previously with the Bedford County Ambulance Service.  He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louella Arnold and a brother, James E. “Fuzzy” Arnold. 

He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Arnold, and her companion Roger lynch, of Shelbyville; Jennifer’s mother, Theresa Overcast, of Shelbyville; a brother, Roger Arnold, of Christiana; two grandchildren, Kanani Rose Arnold and Berkley Coleman Lynch.

Mr. Jennings Renick Lambeth, age 88, of Shelbyville, formerly of Pennsylvania, died Saturday, October 3, 2009, at The Heart Remembers.

Graveside services will be 3 PM Tuesday at Willow Mount Cemetery.  Reverend Dr. Lloyd Doyle will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

He was born October 26, 1920, in Bols D’Arc, Missouri, to the late Virgil and Katherine Renick Lambeth.  He was a retired executive in the steel industry, and a member of Shady Side Presbyterian Church in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Josephine Wiley Lambeth, of Shelbyville; a son, Jennings C. Lambeth, and his wife Suzanne, of Shelbyville; two grandchildren, Jennifer Hinds, of Nashville, and Dr. Melissa Kemp, of Atlanta, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Josephine Hinds, Sarah Hinds, and William Lyle Hinds, III.

She is survived by a son, Kenny Campbell, and his wife Christie, of Shelbyville, and a daughter, Shannon Sullenger, and her husband David, of Shelbyville; a brother, Milton Fears, of Shelbyville, and three sisters, Bobbie McCullough, of Manchester, Monnie Fears Dixon, of Shelbyville, and Nancy Fears Reynolds, of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren, Shana Cleek, Michael Corter, Tyler Tawwater, Hannah Campbell, and Delanie Sullenger.

Mrs. Jessica Scales Moss, age 20, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Shelbyville, died Thursday, October 8, 2009, in an automobile accident in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be 12 noon, Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at Bright Temple COGIC in Shelbyville.  Visitation will be 10 AM until service time Tuesday at the church.  Family visitation will be 11 AM until service time Tuesday.

She is survived by her husband, Skacey Deshaun Moss, of Murfreesboro; two children, Xialin Elise and Kingston Kayshaun, of Murfreesboro; her parents, Wayne And Sheila Scales, of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Jason Scales, and his wife Barbara, of Antioch, and Jonathan Scales, and his wife Brandy, of Gainesville, Florida; grandparents Clyde and Nancy Buchanan, of Shelbyville, and Yvonne Scales, of Shelbyville.

Mrs. Virginia Evelyn Barrett McHaffie, age 87, of Shelbyville died Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center.

She was born June 30, 1922 in Beech Grove, TN, to the late William Vivian and Alberta Timmons Barrett.  She was a graduate of Bell Buckle High School and a 1944 graduate of Vanderbilt University.  She was a retired nurse and a member of Southside Church of Christ.

She is survived by sons, Phil McHaffie, and his wife Patricia, of Shelbyville, TN;  Doug McHaffie, and his wife Debbie, of Nashville, TN; daughter, Mary Tim Cook, and her husband Gary, of Shelbyville; a sister, Mary Melson, of Shelbyville, TN; granddaughter, Amanda Cook, all of Shelbyville, TN.

Mr. Kenneth Ray (Kenny) Hudson, age 42, of Shelbyville, died Friday, October 9, 2009, at home of an apparent heart attack.

A Celebration of Life service will be 8 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2009.. The family will receive visitors 5-8 PM Tuesday, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.  Following the visitation, and per his request, his remains will be cremated.

He was born August 5, 1967, in Shelbyville, to Charles Kenneth and Margaret Ann Smith Hudson, of Shelbyville.  He was owner/operator of Hudson’s Auto Repair and a welder.  Kenny loved his family very much.  His favorite place to be was on the river, and he also enjoyed good movies and working crossword puzzles.  His highlight of the day was telling a good joke to make you laugh, and he also enjoyed gardening and was known for growing big tomatoes.  He enjoyed metal detecting, hunting, and fishing. His favorite saying was, “My God, Magnum”.  He was also known to carry a happy box around occasionally and it kept him pretty happy.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Don and Myrtle Bingham Hudson

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Michael Kenneth Hudson and Zachary Alexander Hudson, both of Shelbyville; a sister, Aletha Hudson Jacobs, of Christiana; grandparents, John “Phillip” and Elizabeth Smith, of Bell Buckle; a niece, Shana Sellars Bryan, of Shelbyville, and nephew, Tanner Jacobs, of Christiana, and great nieces, Kaylee and Kensey Bryan, all of Shelbyville.

She was born February 16, 1941, in Denver, Colorado, to the late James Barker and Anita King.  She was a homemaker. 

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Moffett and Mae Filmore. 

Survivors include a son, Thomas Dewayne Pope, of Shelbyville and a daughter, Lyana Pope; three grandchildren, Thomas Edwin Griffin, Dustin Kyle Pope, and Tyler Zachary Pope; two great grandchildren.

Mr. Louis E. Davis, age 47, of Shelbyville, formerly of Jackson, Mississippi, died Saturday, October 17, 2009, in a motor vehicle accident. 

A Memorial service will be held a later date at the family home place in Tinnin, Mississippi.  Per his request, his remains were cremated. 

He was born August 25, 1962, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Frank Emerson and Karen Williamson Davis.  He was truck driver for Great Wide Trucking and co-owner of Davis Brothers Motorsports.  He was an excellent mechanic and attended the Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his twin brother, Lloyd Davis, and his wife Traci, of Shelbyville; a sister, Janelle Davis Moudy, and her husband, Robby, of Jackson, Mississippi; a nephews, Bret McLain and Hunter Moudy.

He was born June 11, 1941, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, to the late Julius ‘Doc” Pierce and Francis Davis Peach.  He was an Executive Chef and operated Rebecca’s Restaurant in the Shelbyville Inn for many years.  He held membership in the First Church of The Nazarene. 

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Ives Pierce, of Shelbyville; two sons, Robert Pierce, Jr., and his wife Christy, of Leominster, Massachusetts, and Eric Pierce, and his wife Lori, of Shelbyville; two daughters, Kim Deducca, and her husband Jack, of Italy, Texas, and Lisa Smith, and her husband James, of Henderson, Tennessee; a brother, J.D. Mr. Roy F. “Buck” Carroll, age 77, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Dr. Kevin Minchey will officiate, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

He was born august 22, 1932, in Bedford County, to the late John F. and Lula McNeese Carroll.  He was owner/operator of Carroll Automotive from 1964 until 1981 and was an Automotive Instructor at Shelbyville High School for twenty six years.  He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Past Master of the Shelbyville Benevolent Lodge #122, and was a member of the Al Menah Shrine Temple.  He was also an active member and Ordained Deacon of First Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Nichols and a brother, Avery “Bud” Carroll.
