 MS Regina Hope Potts, age 41, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.  Reverend Bobby McGee will officiate, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. 

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. 

She was born March 18, 1967, in Shelbyville, to Leonard R. Potts, of Shelbyville, and the late Ann Green Potts. She was preceded in death by her mother in January of this year and a brother, Leonard Keith Potts. 

In addition to her father, she is survived by a son, Ryan Keith Enfinger, of Shelbyville, Keith’s father Ryan G. Enfinger, of Shelbyville; an uncle, Jim Potts, and an aunt and uncle, Sallie and Jerry Darnell, all of Shelbyville.

Mr. John Thomas Pope, age 84, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center. 

Private Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. 

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. 

He was born August 16, 1924, in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, to the late Gran M. and Willie Tucker Pope.  He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart.  He was also a founding member of Riverbend Country Club, a member of the Bedford County Industrial Board, and held membership in the Disabled American Veterans Association.  He began his barber career in the old Gunter Building and was still practicing after 71 years.  He attended the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer and Southside Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene Sullivan Pope after fifty years of marriage, and also by his second wife of ten years, Margaret Brown Pope.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Doyle Pope.

He is survived by a son, John McClain Pope, and his wife, Jackie, of Murfreesboro, and a daughter, Linda Martin, of Clinton, Mississippi; six grandchildren, McClain Pope, Melinda Pope, Matt Pope, and Michael Pope, all of Murfreesboro, and Jessica McKercher, of Brandon, Mississippi, and Anna Harkins, of Madison, Mississippi; a great grandchild, Mya Hopkins.

Memorials may be made to Southside Church of Christ Summer Fund, Church of The Redeemer, or Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. James C. Scott, age 92, of Shelbyville, entered into eternal rest Saturday, February 21, 2009, at his home after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Fairlane Church of Christ. Geoff Giesemann and Russ Countess will officiate, with burial to follow in Wilkes Cemetery in Culleoka, Tennessee. 

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday at Fairlane church of Christ. 

He was born March 31, 1916, in Culleoka, to the late Allen Burnley Scott and Bessie Bell Matthews Scott.  He was a retired Educator with the State of Tennessee and had a long and impressive career. He was a graduate of Culleoka High School in 1935, and a graduate of Middle Tennessee College.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1942 -1946, and in World War II.  He married Jean Thaxton on November 11, 1944 and they were together until her passing in January 2008.

His teaching career began in with the fourth grade at Andrews Elementary School from 1937 until 1940.  He was then Principal at Highland Park Elementary School from 1940 – 1942.  He was principal at Whitthorne Jr. High from 1947-1958, principal at White County High 1958-1959, and principal at Marshall County High School from 1959-1966.  He then became principal at Shelbyville Central High School where he served from 1966 until 1975.  In 1979, he retired from Tennessee Preparatory School, bringing an end to a career in education than endured 42 1/2 years.

He held interim positions as Superintendent of Tennessee Children’s Home, Principal at Columbia Academy, and Principal at Eakin Primary School.

He loved to work on the farm and did so most all of his life.  He owned and managed J & J Farms from 1967-2002.

He was past president of the Education Associations in Marshall, Maury, and Bedford Counties.  He was also past president of the Bedford County Retired Teachers Association.  At one time he was a member of the Rotary Club in Lewisburg, Sparta, and has been active in the Shelbyville Rotary Club since 1966.

He was an active member of the Tennessee Farm Bureau in Marshall and Bedford Counties.

He was a member of the Church of Christ since 1932, where he served as a Deacon of Church Street Church in Lewisburg. He became an Elder for the old Main Street Church of Christ in 1972, and was still active in his church, Fairlane Church of Christ. 

He is survived by a son, Ronald Thaxton Scott, and his wife, Kathy, of Rockvale, and a daughter, Jeanie Elizabeth Raymond, and her husband Glenn, of Lewisburg; a brother, Donald Matthews Scott, of Columbia and a sister, Dr. Margaret Butler, of Roswell, Georgia; four grandchildren, Josh Fitzgerald, Josh Scott, Jordan Scott, and Hannah Scott; three great grandchildren, Isabella Fitzgerald, Jackson Scott, and Cohen Scott.

Mr. William Thomas Pugh, age 75, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at his home after an extended illness. 

Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday, February 27, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.  Brother Gilley Andrews will officiate, with burial to follow in Hopper Cemetery. 

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. 

He was born August 2, 1933, in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, to the late Houston Mead and Sadie Bell Batten Pugh.  He was retired as a machinist with Durango Boot Company.  He attended Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Goss in 2008, and his second wife, Peggy Leverette Pugh in 1997.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kitty Diane Lovvorn and a brother, Paul Pugh.

He is survived by a son, Billy Pugh, and his wife Linda, of Shelbyville; three daughters, Peggy Nichols, of Shelbyville, Connie Price, and her husband William, of Shelbyville, Pam Sullivan, and her husband Tom, of Wartrace; a brother, Houston Meade Pugh, and his wife Sylvia, of Shelbyville; three sisters, Sarah Clark, and her husband Noble, of Russellville Kentucky, and Mable Foster, and her husband L.C., of the Wheel Community, and Jessie Horton, of Shelbyville; six grandchildren, Amy Kay DeArmond, Amanda Lynn Davidson, Lori lane Lindsey, Misty Renea Throneberry, Jeremiah Thomas Sullivan, and Michelle Walker; six great grandchildren, John Lovvorn, Chelsey Asherbranner, Hunter Davidson, Addisyn Lindsey, Cali Throneberry, and Laela Throneberry.

Mrs. Willie Beatrice Hord, age 89, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Bright Temple Church of God In Christ.  Elder Willie Rippy will be eulogist, with burial to follow in Hord Cemetery on Union Ridge in Wartrace. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to service Saturday at the church. 

She was born April 22, 1919, in Union Ridge to the late John Watson Cortner and Mary McMahon Cortner.  She was employed in the cafeteria at Bedford County Hospital and Nursing Home. She was a member of Kings Chapel Church of God In Christ. 

She was preceded by her husband Comer Hord in 2001, and a daughter, Shirley Hord. 

She is survived by two sons, Comer ‘Squeaky” Hord, and Joe Hord, both of Wartrace; two daughters, Margaret Norton and Faye Buckingham, both of Shelbyville; a sister, Lynda Johnson, of Shelbyville; her caregivers, Krista Hord and Phillip Sutherland; ten grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

 Mr. Francisco Quevedo Bravo, age 55, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Bedford County Nursing Home. 

Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday at St. William Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 PM Friday at the old St. William church until service time. 

He was born January 13, 1954, in Michocan, Mexico.  He is survived by his wife, Gloria Arellano, of Shelbyville, and his children, Nayeli Quevedo, Alejandro Quevedo, and Ana Quevedo, all of Shelbyville.

Mrs. Bonnie Sue Pethoud Mason, age 46, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009. 

Memorial services will be 11 AM Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.  Per her request, her remains were cremated. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to service. 

She was born April 7, 1961, in Harbor city, California, to Dan Kay and Eileen Rasmussen Pethoud of Beatrice, Nebraska.  She was a truck driver. 

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Everett and Violet Rasmussen, and Paul Gray. 

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Daniel Pethoud, and his wife Bonny, a sister, Jolene Pethod; grandmother, Jean Gray; a niece, Danni Pethoud and a nephew, Jonathan Pethoud, all of Beatrice, Nebraska; her companion, Bob “Foxy” Carter, of Shelbyville; and her ex-husband and good friend, Doug Mason, of Shelbyville.

Mrs. Gladys Christine Rose, age 88, of Shelbyville, entered into rest Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Tom Rouseau will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. 

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. 

She was the wife of Olen Rose, who passed away in 1971, and the mother of, Charles “Bubba” Rose, who died in 1999. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer Spurgeon, Grady Spurgeon, Boyd Spurgeon, and Coy Spurgeon, and two sisters, Amy Bryant and Annie Clayton. 

She was born June 9, 1920, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to the late James and Hattie Clayton Spurgeon.  She was retired from Southside School Cafeteria, and kept children in her home. She loved to play bingo and was the “Ultimate Nanny”.  She was a member of Cannon United Methodist Church.  

She is survived by a son, Harold (Kay) Rose, of Shelbyville; three grandchildren, Tina (Trevan) Townsend, of Brentwood, Mike (Kristy) Rose, of Franklin, and Matthew Rose, of Deason; three great grandchildren, Adam Townsend, Grey Townsend, and Grace Rose; a sister in law, Wynelle Spurgeon, of Toledo, Ohio. 

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or Cannon United Methodist Church.

Kristan Nicole Miller, age 20, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Don Herron will officiate, with burial follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro. 

Visitation will be 10AM Tuesday until service time. 

She was born February 22, 1988, in Dallas, Texas.  She worked as a telemarketer for the Reading for Education program. 

She is survived by her husband, Jim Miller, of Shelbyville; four daughters, Savannah, Hannah, Kameran, and Kaylah, and a son, Jonathan; her mother, Kimberly Williams, of Shelbyville, her father Scott, and his wife Danette,  Williams, of Hartselle, Alabama; a brother, Scott Williams, Jr. of LaVergne, Tennessee; grandparents, Sharon Williams, of Cornersville, and Ed Williams, of Hohenwald. 

She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Alice Bonifant, age 78, of the Halls Mill Community, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 12, 2009, at St. Thomas Hospital. 

Funeral services will be 11 Am Monday, February 16, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.  Reverend Emmitt Arnold will officiate, with burial to follow in Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna, Tennessee. 

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Sunday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. 

She was born December 24, 1930, in Carrolton, Ohio, to the late Ellis and Mary Pelley Matthews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Edward Bonifant, Sr. in 1988, and a son, Carl Bonifant, Jr., in 1976.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Moore. 

She is survived by three sons, Rockey (Linda) Bonifant, of Murfreesboro, Ricky Bonifant, of Shelbyville, and Dale Bonifant, of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Barbara (George) Smith and Christine (Jose) Rodriquez, both of Shelbyville; 12 grandchildren, Lance Corporal George Smith, III, Jennifer Botello, Allisha Lee, John E. Driver, Jr., Brandi Moreno, Heather Driver, Lynnie Bonifant, Mark Bonifant, Ricky Bonifant, Jr., Matthew Bonifant, David Moore, and Toni Anthony; and nine great grandchildren, Alden Moreno, Christopher Moreno, Allison Underwood, Brandon Driver, Lilly Anna Botello, Eric Botello, Natalie Jones, Alexander Bonifant, and Maura Faye Anthony.

Mr. Ronald Dwight Aderholdt, Sr., age 77, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Glen Oaks Convalescent Center.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday at St. William Catholic Church.  Father Richard Driscoll will officiate.  Burial will take place in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Visitation will be 4-8 Monday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.

He was born July 4, 1931, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Carl E. and Eva Aderholdt.  He was a retired police officer with the city of Poughkeepsie, New York, and then worked with the Dutchess County Highway Department and Traffic Safety Board, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the United States Marine Corp and served in the Korean War.  He was an active member of St. William Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Aderholdt, after 43 years of marriage.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Lamar Aderholdt, and Eldon Aderholdt and Bernice Conti, and a sister in law and brother in law, Maxine Aderholdt and Louis Conti.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Gertrude Bowman Aderholdt, of Shelbyville; two sons, Ronald  (Lucy) Aderholdt, Jr. of Unionville, and Christopher (Maureen) Aderholdt, of Hudson, New York; a daughter, Deborah (Tim) Droz, of San Jose, California; step son, Danny (Cindy) Whitfield, of Shelbyville, and step daughter, Paula (Ewald) Merchant, of Shelbyville; a sister in law, Helen Aderholdt, of Poughkeepsie, New York; three grandchildren, Ronnie Aderholdt, Anna Aderholdt, and Evan Droz; step grandchildren, Donya Whitfield, Katie Logan, Valerie Parks, Mandy Lawter, and Jessica Hollis; great grandchild, Lucas Aderholdt.
